New comer Rafee has been announced the music director of the film while sarathkumar's home production company Radaan mediaworks and zee motion pictures collaborate to produce the film. Despite early indications that sarath kumar's real-life step daughter, rayan, would portray the role of the daughter, shriya saran bagged the role. Veteran comedien,goundamani similarly plays a role in the project. After approaching simran bagga, padmapriya, kamalini mukerji and vimala raman for the role, bollywood actress tabu agreed to do the mother's role, demanding a sum of 75 lakhs but later walked out of the role.

Sneha, who was picked to portray mother in the film, opted out because of her discontent in being the mother of the lead heroine. Kiran rathod was similarly handed a role in the film, which is touted to be the original of her comeback. Saran who had met commercial efficiency and success with sivaji:the boss used to be requested to portray dual roles in the film, notwithstanding she rejected the time and opportunity, citing that she will only play a single role. Sarath kumar was signed to play the dual lead role, getting the sixth collabaration amidst the director and the actor. Newcomer srisha was late rhanded that certain role.

Unnai pol oruvan, a remake of bollywood hit a wednesday, is undoubtedly one of the most awaited movie of this season and proves to be a true reflection of a common man's anger versus terrorism. The hero's objective gets revealed only in the second half until then the audience mind rolls with inquisitiveness what and why is the hero plotting versus the police and the populace. it's an honest outburst of anger from the son-of-the soil versus mass killing in the name of jihaad. The audience gets engrossed with this reputation and empathize the predicament a commissioner goes through from the hands of power, politics and populace.

Ganesh venkatram has a tailor-made role. The film is picture perfective technically and the background score by sruthi haasan builds the mood. Upo revolves around an individual's anger versus terrorism and the steps he takes expressing it. The movie retorts heroically that terrorism is the answer for terrorism. Kamal had given his finest peice of acting by his aroused outburst at the end, is heart rendering. Kamal haasan plays the protagonist versus the terrorism. 'unnaipol oruvan' is essentially a fantasy vigilante movie, unnaipol oruvan is worthy and deserving to be watched to see how kamal & mohanlal pit versus nasser & kher.
